Innovations

Incitement and support of innovative activities in Perm region are the priorities of the Ministry of Industry, Innovations and Science of the region.

The goal of the Ministry in the filed of innovations is construction and development of an integrated innovation infrastructure in the territory of Perm region, which will allow creation of necessary conditions to upgrade the innovation level and competitive advantages of the production enterprises of the region.

The Ministry is currently preparing a new conception of the innovation development program of Perm region.

A great attention is paid to co-operation of Perm region and the State Corporation “Russian Corporation of Nanotechnologies”. This co-operation has already resulted in opening of the project office, which promotes creation of new projects implemented by the enterprises of Perm region in the field of nanotechnologies.

The long-range objectives of the Ministry are creation of data portal, opening of the International center of scientific and technological cooperation and the Regional innovative technological complex (RITC). The creation of RITC is aimed for information and analytical support and provision of professional consulting assistance to all participants of the innovative activities.

The data portal will allow joining of all participants of the innovative activities and will help enterprises to implement new projects more efficiently.

Science

The development of the scientific potential of the region is one of the priorities of the Ministry of Industry, Innovations and Science of Perm region.

The history of the region is abundant in the names of outstanding scientists and unique discoveries. Today as well schools of sciences, higher educational institutions, research centers and gifted scientists of the region make invaluable contribution into the development of fundamental and applied research.

The scientific potential of the region includes 4 institutes and 3 subsidiaries of the Ural branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, 14 higher educational institutions, more than 30 sectoral research institutes and design engineering bureaus of scientific and industrial organizations.

During the recent years the most efficient development of scientific research has been observed in the fields of nanotechnologies and nanomaterials, efficient and safe natural resources development, modern production technologies and materials, development of resource-saving and environment friendly innovative industries and production facilities, as well as interdisciplinary research in the field of medical science.

To support science in Perm region the Ministry carries out its work in three major directions: legislation, support of innovative projects and the projects of fundamental and applied research, awarding scientists for the most significant scientific efforts and discoveries.

In purpose of regulation of the policy of Perm region in the field of science the Ministry initiates and develops regional laws and regulations conducing to the development of science and creating the most comfortable conditions for scientific research activities.

Besides, the Ministry renders targeted support to the leading schools of sciences, higher educational institutions and applied science organizations awarding grants financed from the federal and regional budgets for implementation of scientific research projects including those of high applied importance. Thus, the Ministry co-operates with the Russian Humanitarian Scientific Fund, the Russian Fundamental Research Fund and the US Civilian Research and Development Foundation.

Every year the Ministry acts as an organizer or co-organizer for carrying out of more than 100 popular scientific regional events such as conferences, congresses, symposiums, seminars and exhibitions of regional, federal and international importance being held in Perm region. Furthermore, the Ministry provides organizational and financial support to for publication of scientific works of scientists that have the most significant achievements in various fields of expertise.

Since 1998 talented scientists working in organizations and enterprises of Perm region have opportunity to take benefits of the system of regional bonuses and scholarship programs for original scientific works, discoveries, inventions and research efforts that have great scientific and practical importance for the development of the region. This helps to effectively unlock creativity of scientists, researchers, educators and experts working in the scientific and educational field of Perm region.
